Glenmont Celebrates 90 Years!
With the launch of our New Day several years ago, we moved away from dependency on Medicare and Medicaid towards a model based purely on spiritual ideals. To fulfill this vision, our Board of Trustees has prayerfully considered our current facility and its capability to serve Glenmont in the years to come.
In last year’s newsletter we communicated that our Board has been seeking a new location for Glenmont, one that can provide the right atmosphere for healing, and that would allow us to continue to practice Christian Science nursing in accord with our high standards. As we move forward, our New Day vision is as a shining light brightening the path!
We have sought a property that would provide:
a model facility that will support our full practice of Christian Science nursing and that focuses on a homelike setting versus an institutional environment,
quiet, beauty and privacy for our patients. As you know, our current property is land-locked and surrounded by apartments,
housing for our Christian Science nursing students,
space for our Christian Science nursing school,
space for Rest and Study guests,
a garage for storing equipment and to house Glenmont’s new mini-bus,
direct access to the street,
and, property near our current location for the convenience of our staff members who live in the area.
We are grateful to announce that our efforts have been successful! Glenmont has purchased 20 acres of land about 1 ½ miles from our current location! The New Day is revealing a new Glenmont!
This new property meets all of the above provisions! Its natural beauty made it stand out from the others. How blessed we are that the right place for Glenmont was divinely revealed and secured!
Glenmont’s never changing mission of ‘Built on the Rock’ serves as a basis for the Board’s newly formed Metaphysical Committee. The Committee has met several times already and is focused on providing a firm foundation for this large endeavor. We are also forming a ‘Loaves and Fishes’ Committee to embrace Glenmont’s future sustainability in this New Day vision.
